Didn’t finish. Couldn’t get into it

I really enjoyed this. I didn't realised I had already read book 2. This reminds of Philip K Dick and it is really interesting that someone who was born almost 50 years after Dick, writes in a very similar vein and has similar concerns about the future we are diving into. I think I will be devouring more of Doctorow's books.

Too slow. Gave up about halfway through

Observations of a war correspondent in what I consider the classic school of journalism, that is to observe and share without letting personal feelings interpret those of others. Probably not a surprise but I had read one of the stories before about a group of Americans who tricked a group of German soldiers that was twice as big, into surrendering.

A good read for me because this is about my family. Many relatives who did not survive the war . It has a photo of a major family event with my grandfather and his brother in attendance. We have a small family and ai wonder what family reunions might have been like if it hadn’t been for the nazis.

This book makes sure these victims have their stories told, so they are not just names and numbers

Very well written and also very honest showing how an ordinary person can get swept up in a wave of situations that they don't necessarily agree with in order to gain acceptance as a teenager.

This is not the sort of book you pick up and read if your want to lift your game. I read 75% and then went to the first formulas and started using them. This is a great workbook but reading it alone will not get you the results you are looking for. Some people say "If I pick up just one thing, it's worth it." That may be true but this is full of nuggets and if you only pick up one thing. Read it again:)

Anyone who had a heart and loved the song should read this book. It's a great frank insight of a man who has touched all of our lives even if you don't know it.

I'm glad he's not my brother! Good read for children of the 80's
