I'm about halfway through and these are my thoughts:

1. Why are there so many wealthy people in this novel, and there is literally no explanation for why they are so wealthy? Literally no one in the book has a job, yet they are all extremely rich

2. Jane is a bit annoying

3. The story is well-written but extremely convoluted it took me until the 25% mark until I started realizing who everyone was

Okay so I like the novel so far but it is a bit slow to get the mystery... dont get me wrong I enjoy the writing style but it isnt as suspenseful as Birthday Girl. I actually am finding myself empathizing with Neve which i guess is unusual given the comments ive read so far about this book! Kit just seems emotionally abusive, toxic & controlling, and I will atleast admit Neve's moral compass is definitely a bit off

So far so good! I am definitely enjoying it right now!

Unnecessarily disturbing. Needs tw for physical and mental child abuse, death (the killing) of multiple toddlers, extreme mental illness, body image issues & post-partum depression. I hated how it portrayed women as either perfect housewives or incapable abusers.. I did not care for graphic depictions of how much Blythe found her body, not just not beautiful, but physically disgusting because she had a baby.

So far very very dark and upsetting. It is raw and makes you look at the truly dark but honest parts about humanity, motherhood, and relationships. At first I despised Blythe, but now I am starting to really hate Fox and Violet. I am never feeling indifferent which is a positive.
