Stop making me cry, book. 😢

So far, 5 women have died, and two men, one of which died first, so he's getting a species named after him.

Plop, plop, plop. Everything plops in this book. I dunno why the plops stick out to me so much, but there's been four I've noticed so far.

Really finding it hard to read and understand Leon's constant sentence fragments.

Understand: 3/5 stars. The story was interesting, but I feel like there was meaningful conflict.

Tower of Babylon: 4/5

Correction--he's not an eighth grader, he's an eleventh grader (AKA junior). I was worried because it said Leo could drive a truck, but now it makes sense. Which makes it less dangerous for him that he followed Stargirl into the desert, but still creepy. It's also creepy that he hung around her house under the cover of darkness.

Second read-through, first time I read this I was a child. I'm leery that it's very very obvious that Stargirl is the other and that Leo is so far an eighth grade cardboard cutout that likes porcupine ties and who creepily follows sophomores all over town.

The way these characters talk is like real people! It's funny just like funny things happen in real life!!

This narrator guy is quite something.......

The way the writing flows in this book is so strange and stilted. When Cass is narrating, she doesn't sound 18... more like 10. I think it works, because you can't get comfortable, and the world in the story seems falsified. Weird.

This is reminding me of Assassin's Apprentice and I'm digging it.

This book rambles a bit much about Russell's adolescence.

Lisa is great. I don't get Russell's lack of knowledge. I love the mystery of the bugs.

I'm not sure about this book and what is trying to say about autism and the autism spectrum... I've also noticed it's only the women so far who have been described in the spectrum, which is a rare occurrence in real life.

I thought Jamie was a girl and now I'm sad.
