Wow, it really just jumps right in to the story doesn’t it? I feel like I explained a little bit of the world building, but I would like to know more like what exactly are dæmons and what is the hierarchy of the government and everything? I’m getting a sense of the world, but I have so many questions.

Well, this 2nd chapter was way more of a hook than the first! Definitely seems like beauty and the beast meets a werewolf tale. And it helped with the exposition of the backstory, and I really liked the rhyming at the end of the chapter and the prose Incorporated into the story.

What a curious read! I wonder what this voice is in her head? And what the heck are the physicians? It appears to be a mix of fantasy and olden times as well as modern times.

Well, we finally got the origin story of how the train station came to be and the Fourth of July fire and the horse hitting the train. Now the rest of the book is one continuous chunk

I feel really bad for Eda, I can relate to having a chronic illness where the meds stop working, and you become a little bit more fragile. And I feel bad for King. I feel like he needs some counseling, just someone to talk to and share his thoughts about aging.

Poor King! He's so anxious, someone needs to council him… Do they have psychologist in that universe? It's really bad that Eda can't heal though with magic

This book is truly beautiful as a graphic novel and I wonder where they are going? It's amazing to see the detail in this graphic model, however, and I'm excited to see where this journey leads.

We've made it through two "Tales" in this book, although everyone seems to build off of the other and I looked ahead and it doesn't seem to be well organized, no contents, but page 88 says "Tale Six, onward" but that's not really a good numbering system… There's no table contents no IBN number but the page number seems right. What a strange volume,

Just before we get to the epilogue, I really like the quote "Forgiveness is about making peace with yourself in your own heart, … and with the ones you are forgiving." Even though I might not agree with all of her religious take on everything and viewpoint, I agree that forgiveness is something that comes from yourself and your own heart, then something external, & I think it's important for people to remember that

Oh my goodness we are doing so well and then this last chapter was so bad… It was so much proselytizing so much jumping to conclusions that were not OK and it read like a badly worded essay for English class… I had so much faith in this book before this… No pun intended

Now we've reached another arc of the story it seems… She listed a lot of different people's last moments and recollections from that day and stories and even phone calls, one from the restaurant Windows on the World on 106th floor, which was very interesting to hear. I think I've heard it in a documentary year too seems to be a famous conversation floating around. Was definitely here for this.

I still wanna know who Paul is. And good for her for becoming a legal citizen even if she did have some help. Also, congrats on her baby, and it's awesome to hear about the progress that she made and I'm happy that the Port Authority let her back and do a similar job!

So she has a scare about losing her leg, a cancer scare, but somehow she doesn't dwell on the immigration scare? The woman from her temp agency comes and says she has it taken care of and that's it?! It's 2026. I feel like we need to revisit this. Also the quote "God is my psychiatrist" is a great chapter ending.

Finally, halfway through the narrative! And I still have one more question: who is Paul? This is a really fishy situation and never got fully explained. I'm happy she's out though.

Hey, they mentioned John McLaughlin and Will Jimeno who were two Port Authority officers/cops also rescued from the rubble, the two before her which their stories are immortalized in World Trade Center (the movie from 2008?) Which is pretty cool because I'm familiar with their story from the movie. I wonder if they have a book…

Thank God to Paul literally! She is saved! Finally, someone found her in that rubble. It's about time.

I feel so bad, she feels like she's lying because she's really trying to get a better life by stretching her visa, but at least she's being honest to God and to her faith in God she's actually being pretty down to earth about talking about it not too pious, like I said, and I like how it's narratively put, and how she's being genuine with God and talking to God from her own heart, but not being too pious or haughty

This was an interesting chapter because it wasn't too preachy, but it was talking about God and how she wants to close your connection and how she regrets not paying more attention to praying and becoming more closer to Him – the Abraham, God – and at the same time it was really sad reading the paragraph about how other good people were killed too… I also laughed at the line about the genie in the bottle

I feel so bad that she feels she's failed her daughter… She's just trying to make a better life and it's interesting that she inserted her husband and daughter's perspective later into the narrative, that definitely strengthens the story.

I can’t believe she was found 27 hours after the north tower fell on and that she was the last survivor found beneath the World Trade Center rubble after the terrorist attacks on September 11. What heroin journey this will be.

Again the last chapter was a little preachy, but hearing about her best friend Alana was good hearing about the terms was awesome and hearing about her overcoming duck dives and learning how to live again was nice, but I definitely want to hear about her competing

It was nice to hear about what was not in the movie, but I kind of wanna get back to the plot after all. This is a memoir and I want to see her get back in the surfing after the attack! Also, it’s funny that the two things she liked about NYC was orange soda from a specific hotel and snow(ball fights) and that’s it,

Made it to the next chapter, thank goodness, this should be an interesting chapter based on the title, and that last one was a little too preachy
