Colin is starting The Haunting of Hill House
Is there a more perfect description of how fucked up a house looks in all of literature?

"Hill House, not sane" - like my god, dude.

Or when Eleanor is observing how the lines don't meet quite right. Too long in some places, too short in others. Jackson accomplishes in a paragraph what Danielewski spends a whole book on.

Back to this hopecore slop

Every paragraph is the exact same.

What if question? Or perhaps statement.
Around the world, there have been lists, examples, and items.
For example, here is one:

And so on and so on. I'll still keep drinking this garbage

house-elf stuff is brutal. a description of rita skeeter's "mannish" hands feels horrifically prophetic

Early on, Harari suggests that advances in AI and robotics which replace healthcare workers will allow companies to use the money saved toward research, which is either one of the most guileless or most cynical things I've ever read.

This whole book reads like neoliberalism dabbing on us in its dying throes

Colin is starting No Logo
This feels more than a little dated. Not because Klein was wrong about anything, but because late-stage capitalism has marched on and intensified to such a degree that the idea of people tattooing the Nike swoosh on themselves feels comparatively tame. As a consequence, I'm having a harder time with this, because it all feels so self-evident. The Animal Liberation of Gen X socialism, perhaps?
