If you’re going to set a novel in NYC, please know about the city. Already there are so many things taking me out of this story because it’s just not accurate to NYC. Hopefully I can get over it and continue on. 🙄

I can see why people are rating this one so highly. It really is so beautifully written. Can’t wait to finish it and unfurl everything.

Another great audio rec. maybe I’m turning into an audiobook person after all? Just learning that I only tend to like thrillers or mystery on audio, though. All other genres seem to be a miss for me unless I read a physical copy.

In any case, this is a brilliantly told story of two women who go missing. Lots of twists and turns, all told from multiple POVs. More to come when I’ve finished!

I gotta set this aside right now. I typically love this author, but maybe I’m just not I. The right mood right now.

Had to take a five-day break while I had PRK surgery and was on full on dark-room, sleep-all-day, vampire mode. But we’re back and I’m so eager to see how this story continues!

Listening to this while I am recovering from PRK and in full-on dark room vampire mode. I am besotted with it. These narrators are so good and I cant wait to see where this goes.

I don’t know anything anymore. This book is going to break my entire being open.

I get it now. This is so worth the slow build. I can’t stop thinking about this book when I’m not reading it.

It’s taken a solid 100 pages or more for me to get into this book. I’m now invested and fully sat for this ride, whether it’s pleasant or not. Polarizing, this is dark, heavy, and startlingly beautiful. I understand why many reviews DNF’d it. But I’m hanging in because I’m certain it’ll be worth it. Also, it’s January. Isn’t much more bleak than that.

I am about halfway through, I can’t remember which day I started this book. This is shaping up to be a 5⭐️ read. So lushly written. Beautiful prose. It’s like a fever dream.

The unraveling of these woven storylines is done so well. How did Cyrus go from a devoted Diviner-in-training to being in league with the devil? I’m desperate to understand his journey.

This is so creepy. I am loving this so much. It is eerie and creepy and weird and I keep thinking I’ve got it figured out but then something changes and I just don’t know if I’ve got it or not!

A hundred pages in and I am ensorcelled by this book.

I’m hanging in there to see the conclusion, but wow this is hard to read. Sex trafficking is hard to stomach. This series is mentioned in so many different ways to benchmark other reads by. I am glad I’ll have it under my belt. But I can safely say that I don’t think I’ll ever choose to read another series quite like this.
