Pretty slow…and dramatic

It isn’t a BP narrated book without solar plexus being mentioned. Wooo thanks author for that. Eye roll.

Paused for a bit while I read a short-term library loan. Book getting a bit repetitive though. And while there has been lots of easy progress, it also feels like not too much has happened.

Oh yay, BP narrating. This one will be overly dramatic for sure.

Interesting book. A little perfect world and peculiar that the FMCs call their mom by her first name.

Brittany Pressley narrating? Yes, so you know it is dramatic.

Yep. Seems to be the case. Sped up the audio to 1.5x to get through as fast as possible.

If this book goes the way it might be at this stage…

Still enjoying, but there’s too much internal monologue. It bogs down the plot.

Paused to read An Infinite Love Story. Book still good!

Enjoying this one so far! The similar book treads are appearing again. Two characters with bad night terrors (both current reads), two characters named Willa (this book and previous), and two books with scenes in Philly (this and previous).

I feel like I’m missing something with this book, these characters and their story because I’m struggling very much to get into it.

Plowing through this one. It is better than the last Giffin book that I read in 2012.

Powering through. Been 13.5ish years since I said no more Giffin. Let’s see how this goes.

Not quite my speed, but curious to see where it goes.

Not amused that two of the books I’m reading is about losing a spouse. It is so strange how this happens. Both FMCs haven’t taken a vacation in a long time too. One is a single mom now, while the other has no children.

Too long. Kind of boring and juvenile in many spots. First half was ok, but the book got repetitive and slowwwwwww.

Struggling. Kind of bored.

Profoundly sad. Don’t read if you are feeling tender about life, aging parents, and struggling marriages.

Interesting and intriguing! Not the usual type of historical fiction that I usually read, which is ok with me! It is more about the people in the book rather than the time period, although the early 1900s SF earthquake is the time period.

So close to the end, but trying to keep the eye rolls at bay.

Far more melodramatic than I prefer, especially about a newborn baby and the insanity that ensues.

Charming and cute. Trigger warning for anyone going through a rough time in their marriage, but uplifting and positive on moving forward. But if you aren’t ready for the moving forward part, wait to read until you are.

Struggling despite the great reviews. Some good parts, but very verbose and descriptive. The pace is slow in many parts.

Paused somewhere in the 25-26% range. Ran out of time on the library loan.

Apparently this is a polarizing book. You either like it or you don’t. I know which side I’m on.

All over the place. Scattered glimpses of a story and once you get used to one, we flip to another one.

This book is all over the place. Bouncing from people to people to people with different stories that make me zone out and forget what’s happening. Am I missing something?

So much extra fluff in one book to add bulk and pages that lead to nothing. The repetition and extra detail are making this read a bit of a slog.
