Portraits of the author's observations and interactions with a variety of birds in Maine. For all of the author's books thus far, it is surprising that neither author nor Houghton Mifflin didn't catch numerous errors which are surprising and distracting. The most recent being on page 113: "Since they start holes and then leave them, may hack out a nest cavity..." Come on.
