Need a summer lit book for some fun

Thus begins the final month of the year in which I will be reading the books I have on birds

One story in and I’ve already cried… I knew this would happen. Why do I do this to myself

Netflix made me do it. Wanting to see how different the tv series is from the book

About 200 pages in and I’m really struggling to pick it up each night. Finding the writing style difficult to follow and enjoy. Might leave it for a bit and see if I want to come back to it. It’s a shame because I had high hopes for a story about women and their role in a war. But so far, the women have been in the background compared to all the men introduced.

Discovered it is published as a Christian fiction. Not really my cup of tea but will continue to read and see where it goes. Nothing too religious right now.
