I wasn't going to pick this up because I feared it would be too irreverent, until it was recommended to me by a trusted fellow knitter.

I am so pleasantly surprised by the depth of this. We spent a chapter critiquing evolutionary psychology and the next chapter was an incredibly detailed history of Sarah Bartman and butts as a weapon of race science. I'm loving this so far.

I am rereading this and honestly having a fun time.

I needed this book to end 100 pages ago. I’m so close and so unmotivated to finish.

Let’s deconstruct the white myth of the linear march of progress. Let’s expand our political imaginings. Let’s flip the script on who generated the political philosophies of the enlightenment. As always, a beautiful work from Graeber.
