It's not that it's terrible, it's just... Common. And I think if the romance 'heroes' took consent seriously, most of these 'happy endings' the characters make it to wouldn't be. Which is annoying, honestly, because still we read them. And still people write them, because by the time we reach the happily ever after, we forget the lack of consent and respect that usually starts the story.

Ok, so... I wasn't going to read this (it's a book club pick, and I was going to skip it) because it combines two of my least favorite things: storylines set in American confederacy and zombies. But! I'm only about an hour into the audiobook and I love it so far!
