I read 50-100 pages of this book once a year until I get insanely bored and start reading other books. Will be a miracle when I finish.

“Nearly everything which we call life is just insomnia, an agony because we've lost the habit of falling asleep. We don't know how to let go. We're like a Jack-in-the-box perched on top of a spring and the more we struggle the harder it is to get back in the box.”

I am taking my time with each plateau. Mainly because of the immense ambiguity. That being said, this is one of the best books I’ve ever read so far. Absolutely stunning.

“Nevertheless what Joseph Skizzen regretted most was that he would die before the decision to end Creation had been made, before the disease of human life had mortaled even earth, and all the ores and salts and oils had been removed, fertility driven from the land, the juice of every fruit drunk, waters pumped and gulped and pissed, carcasses consumed”

“The tragedy of Nietzsche is the tragedy of night emerging from excesses of light. His eyes emboldened and wide open, like an eagle in flight: the sun of immorality and dazzling malice left him blinded. A dazzled man speaks to you.”

I’ll probably finish this book some day, or maybe not. The style is amazing, truly one of a kind book, but the dialogue is so goddamn boring.

Beautiful and erudite prose, isn’t hard to read yet, but I wait.

If you can’t live your own life, you can at least die on your own grim terms, and give people a lot of satisfying misery while you’re doing it.

I’m re-reading Anti-Oedipus along with this right now so between that and Gass’ prose it’s taking a while to progress.

My god, the Greeks! The German mind has been so sodomized by those splendid pederasts, we don’t know which of our holes is for what.

Wouldn’t it be nicer not to know the past? not to remember the madness of your mother, anger of dear old dad, the days of dressings-down, to forget how much has been forgotten and the consequent neglect of friends and children, to feel that making love could still be luminous?

I said nothing about how books made me masturbate. I said nothing about nightmares, about daydreaming, about aching, cock-stiffening loneliness.

Although I’m barely even halfway through, I feel the need to state that this may be one of the best books I’ve ever read, if not my favorite of all time.

I've gotten as far as I can with Deleuze without having read and memorized Leibniz, Hegel, Heidegger, Artaud, Derrida, and more. The Logic of Sense is LSD trip transcendental metaphysics on the advanced scale. This is literally harder than reading Hegel. What I've understood in fragments is amazing though, and is definitely worth a return when higher education is achieved.
