May is roaring on, so time to read book 5. Next month it'll be book 6 and that puts me halfway through the series (and the year).

The novella "Tracking Song" is brilliant, as I've been told. Very reminiscent of The Left Hand of Darkness, at least in setting; and some of the themes seem similar to The Book of the New Sun. As ever, despite being episodically told and a riotous read, there is much bubbling under the surface. So far I've only read the first story, "The Island of Doctor Death and Other Stories", twice through.

Very whimsical, and not at all how I imagined it to be.

Been distracted recently reading a friend's book, but now I'm done with that, it's time to get back to this.

The most terrifying thing about reading a Powell a month is how quickly time appears to be moving: it seems like I am picking one up every few days instead of every few weeks.
