Oh man!!!!! My first reread from 2025 book in 2025! I finished a very sad true crime book so I thought this would be a good palette cleanser for me, but this time I’m trying to audiobook! 😌

It’s fine so far, and I’m liking what I’m reading, but my mood reader brain that I’ve since developed as an adult has decided it’s true crime hours right now 😔

This book is really great so far! Just beware that it WILL enrage you as she discusses the “truthers” and how absolutely unhinged and deranged they sound when they try to deny the events of this tragedy

Oh god this audiobook narration is AWFUL. Truly no disrespect to the VA but Ilya’s (?) voice is absolutely terrible, especially during more spicy moments. If I had this book currently in another format, I’d have abandoned the audio already 😭

Oh god, we were doing SO WELL and then Lily has to flip and be obnoxious. She JUST learns he has OCD and then tries to gaslight him into thinking she cares about him when he responds sharply and then admits “I want to be chased”. So are you deliberately manipulating and getting upset with him so incite the chase? Because that’s GROSSSSSSSSS and makes me hate her quite a lot.

I gotta say, my joy at realizing an audiobook was included with my ebook on KU was quickly diminished by how terrible Kai’s VA is 😔

Okay so I really like Lorenzo and Lily right now but my god I can’t stand her family, especially Julian and Dahlia. Mom is pushing it, too 🙄
