I’m really liking this so far! Although I couldn’t answer any question about what’s going on, I’m really just flying on the atmosphere and the vibes and the writing.

So early into this one and, although I love it so far, a LOT of it is reminding me of Julie Chan Is Dead.

This is just kinda.. mid, and I’m bummed about it

I gotta be honest, this feels like a self-help book written as a narrative, and I don’t know how cozy or right this fit is for me.

I'm struggling with this because a lot of the history feels like it's unconfirmed or like Kennedy is making assumptions and declaring them as fact. Idk - there's just something a little off and almost parasocial about how Kennedy writes about Goodard and it makes me a lil uncomfy. I'm also unclear why she keeps bringing race up in relation to the kit - unless it's to timestamp the social climate? idk man

I gotta say, guys.. this is a struggle to get through so far :(
