slowly making my way through this book on my lunch breaks, and i’m really enjoying it!! it’s such a hassle to lug around tho

too vaguely intrigued to abandon, but still counting down the pages until i can pick up a new book

one of these days i’ll won’t accidentally pick a book that hinges on the core questions of the part of my ocd that focuses on morality. [insert the date i bought this book] was not that day.

this book is getting better now that we’re focusing in on sydney (my poor girl!!!)

determined to finish this book before 2026. this is partially so i can add one more book towards my reading goal but also bc having this goal means im spending my time more wisely by not wasting time on my phone as much

trying to see if i can get one more book to count towards my goodreads reading challenge… idk that i’ll be able to…

so did i buy a $20 book about supremely evil people, or does it get any better?? bc im not exactly looking for sunshine and rainbows, but morally gray characters give me anxiety… and this is sm more than just morally gray…

loveee john green but what is it with nonfiction writers and the propensity for repeating oneself endlessly to hammer a point home. like you made your point three quotations ago; i don’t need you to quote a fourth author for me to believe what you’re saying!

see also: books that jump around in the timeline and leave info out usually stress me the hell out, but so far the chapters are short enough that i’m not feeling too disoriented. i got this book bc i feel like i’ve been in a bit of a ~reading slump~ fiction-wise, which is unlike me, so the hope is that an Exciting New Fiction book will jumpstart my anti-slump recovery

idk how im going to get through this book with its pro-therapy agenda being so suffocating… why can’t i just read about the demigods without conversation being an extremely thinly-veiled analogy for overcoming mental health struggles ??

damn! also, how does everything i read somehow relate back to something else im learning about in that moment (i’d share what but it’s kinda a spoiler)

broke my accidental fiction nighttime reading hiatus !!

i’ve decided to make a more of an effort to finish this book. anne continues to be very funny, and her constant analysis of familial relationships is both insightful and relatable. her new obsession w peter is interesting to witness, but i’m also like… girl 😭

stayed up way later than intended. i like this book. i feel very seen in each of its characters for different reasons. honestly, i feel seen in its main protagonists/narrators. damn!

im liking this book and im hoping there are enough pages left to make what i want to happen happen (i want two characters to get together and one character to meet another)

if it weren’t for the fact that i like maggie stiefvater as an author, i probs wouldn’t be reading a fiction book about nazis rn. i do that enough via nonfiction and my literal day job

hoping i don’t need to recognize any of the names the narrator is throwing around bc idk if a) they’re real ppl that existed or b) they were just made up for the book and c) if i even care

there’s one detail the narrator keeps bringing up that i don’t remember reading about and can’t find when i skim through what ive already read, and im left wondering if this is like what it was with my last book where they’re referring to something i’m not supposed to know yet

reading books above YA makes me feel stupid because there are so many words i recognize but can’t remember the definition of 😭 the temptation to give myself vocab words of the week is real

i think i’m gonna like this book? curious to see if the “the blond-haired boy is never the love interest in the end, but the brunette is” trope rings true for this book, as i suspect it will. i don’t like the cover.

intrigued. a little worried i’m gonna be googling a ton this book because i do not have the background knowledge related to scotland or appalachia ? interested to see how this book handles wwii and the holocaust (and if the holocaust is even mentioned??)

the writing style def leans more YA than adult, but i can see how the content of the book is not YA. regardless, i’m getting kind of bored and wish the writing had a bit more *spice* to it. i like the characters tho… but also it’s hard to get to know them bc they’re all hiding something from the reader and there are so many of them that it’s hard to keep track of what i already know about each one 😭

it’s so hard to figure out which info i was never given in the first place and am finding out for the first time and what pieces of info i still haven’t been given and which info ive just forgotten btwn the 10 billion POVs across 355 pgs this month

continuing to stay up too late reading despite telling myself i’d cut that out… anyway, everyone needs to stop underestimating aeri!!
