It's been so many years since I last saw an 'X-Files' episode, but I'm really kind of excited about this. O.O

I didn't realize how many reviews I hadn't yet cross-posted from Ani's Book Abyss. Bare with me for a while. Thanks all!

Fear for Me by Cynthia Eden

Taking a break from historical romance for now and diving back into rom-suspense. The Search by Nora Roberts is long overdue for reading--I think I've renewed my library loan enough times now...

So far, I've been wavering on what squares of Romance Bingo 2017 to use each book I've read for. But I definitely will be reading Spider's Bite for the 'Urban Fantasy' square. And this book doubles as part of my Reading Assignment Challenge as well! =D

This book is kind of pissing me off. Why am I still listening to it?

I've already said this before, but why is it that any kind of update, general or book, are limited to 420 characters, when you're pretty much limitless in comments? I can give you a comment of over 10,000 characters, but I can't even ramble on in a book update. And believe me, I ramble. A LOT.

As an experienced wallflower, Violet Winterbottom knew to stake her ground and guard it.

She'd claimed her niche on arrival.  A comfortable alcove of the Summerfield grand hall, lightly scented with a hanging bayberry wreath and conveniently situated near the bowl of mulled wine.

In December of 1813, the officers' ball had a profound effect on Spindle Cove's economy. Seeing as how the village was mostly women, certain commodities ran scarce.

Hairpins, for one. Ribbons, for another. Curling papers came at a premium.

And corners. Corners were the scarcest thing of all.

Because there were only four in any given ballroom, and here in Spindle Cove, so many ladies were drawn to them.

I am already very interested in how this book will progress. Susanna and the Highwood sisters are already becoming interesting characters; though the men are a little strange, I'll give it that--blowing up sheep, indeed.

Week Two of Merlin trilogy Read-Along: Ani's Reading Update

The plot thickens! And just gets more complex! I'm going to admit, I'm kind of giddy to see where this budding relationship between Sybella and Beast will go.

I am part listening to this as an audio book, and part reading it on my Kindle as a print e-book. There is action from the outset, and we immediately learn that Sybella's world is a much different, darker place than Ismae's had been from the first book.

Hi all! Help me decide which book to read next at My TBR List November 2016!

I'm feeling a slight kinship with Lily:

"You thought my awkwardness was from preconceived plans to be awkward?"

I'm really digging the sibling relationship between Lily and her brothers and sister. It's very cute. I also love the friendship between Lily and Isabel... but I'm having some really bad "this friendship is going to be seeing some hard times" vibes, and I'm not sure I like that.

I guess, until then (whether those vibes turn out to be true or not), I'll just enjoy the cuteness.
