the oscillation between hazy, fantastic and gritty, realistic brand of fantasy is familiar (like Sapkowski, but with (oh way too much) Jesus! and minus the pierogi), but I am still waiting for something gut-punching emotion-wise. the soup is good, but hmm. big fan of Guinvere's and Nimue/Merlin treatment (always on the market for any Merlin treatment that can approach Nye's perverse brilliance).

What a gem this is turning out to be! Favourites so far: 'A Good Husband', 'The Angel Wood', 'Sourdough', 'Sister, Sister'...

Extremely readable; flows wonderfully between description and dialogue, and the dialogue is where the charm lies. Zagloba steals the scenes for me. Constantly struggling with the urge to check Estonian translation for particular "features of the world" as well as character hames (Bogun vs Bohun, simplest example).
