3.5 stars. There is absolutely no doubt that Ethan Hawke can write. However, what made this interesting was that it has been touted as autobiographical. Pretty graphic.

Very well written and researched, but the weird ending knocked a star off for me. I will definitely be picking up another Geraldine Brooks book soon though!

I am rating this a 3.5 and rounding up. Kept me hooked! If you like the details of wilderness survival, you’ll like this one. Reminded me of Castaway.

I really enjoyed this book—it kept me interested (I read it in under 24 hours), and the author portrayed a crisis within someone’s life in a truthful manner—sometimes it’s dark; other times it’s ridiculous.

Loved this book and am putting it on my personal “Required Reading List.”

I would probably rated this book higher if I had not listened to it. Not a fan of the narrator. If you love Rear Window (or any Hitchcock film, really), you will love this psychological thriller. Very impressive debut for a first-time author!
