Slowly going through the heavy story in this book. Knowibg these are close to real facts of the time make it very difficult.

Finished Animal Farm. Started on 1984 and very slowly finishing it.

i like this book. but to say it is heavy is an understatement.
most likely due to the personal struggle i am in right now (unemployed and salary-less) making it difficult to continue reading this book.
probably will continue when i am in a more joyful state.

Chris-san accurately captured the fascination of a youthful person first arriving in Nihon. Honestly couldnt finish the last chapters—trying to milk reading the joys of youth discovering new experiences. probably will finish after ordering his 2nd book.

the storytelling is very graphic which i like but at the same time quite overwhelming.
questioning myself why i chose a dark book to read at the moment. need to find respite in light-hearted book before continuing on.

I have been stuck at the end of chapter 25 and coluld not bring myself to continue on. The book is delightful and highly enjoyable. The anecdotes and colourful description about Japan make me deeply nostalgic of my 20s spending my time in Japan in the early naughties.

Can’t bring myself to finish the book. It is like keeping your fav okazu for the last bite…
