I'm struggling with this. I love Veronica Speedwell and initially the big reveal was interesting. Now the whole story is dragging and knowing how book 8 starts... it's such a chore to listen to the audiobook.

Finally making progress with this book. It's been on my "currently reading" list for years. I like it, but it's slow going...

Reading this one with my son for a school competition-- between this one, Number the Stars, and Bridge to Terabithia, I am a sad sad person already).

Struggling. Unlikeable main characters walking in cold forests and talking about folklore cause they have nothing else to do. Also, lots of blushing.

I got the recommendation for this book from a FB group and decided to start the audiobook. I hated it. The pacing felt SO slow and I started using it as my "put me to sleep" book. Decided to read it on Kindle and it's marginally better.

I have been on and off trying to read this for weeks. Does it get better?

This is killing me. A 34-year old woman who acts like a teenager. And constant miscommunication makes me want to scream, "be an adult! have a genuine conversation!" but I guess then the book would be a lot shorter. Arrrrrg.

I am trying to not hate this book. It's got to get better, right?....

Well. Shit. I'll probably finish this book... but at the moment, I'm too hung up on Grohl being just another disappointing human being.

Ugh, another bad ass assassin girl stuck in servitude? And hot fae men that are just SO hot... 🙄
Also, there's a million specialized vocabulary words for the world. It's hard to keep track of since I'm listening to the audiobook...I'm struggling through this.

I have re-read the 1st chapter four times now... at some point, I'm going to decide it's worth starting the 2nd chapter 😆

This book is such a struggle. All filler so far.

DNF at 8%. MMC is a rapist and no amount of "anti-hero" story will make it worth reading for me.

The author gives plenty of warning in her trigger warnings at the beginning of the book, and the reviews seem to be divided into two categories: those that are okay with it and find his redemption/eventual love story worth it, and those that don't.
There are too many books on my TBR for me to want to finish this book.

I'm struggling through this. It's the series finale, so I feel like I HAVE to finish it though...

Reading this on Kindle to determine if I want an SE of it... and so far? This book is terrible.
