John Piper never disappoints me in his books. Biblical, honest, practical, applicable, helpful.

What an incredible life of service to humanity, both physically and spiritually. While he was not singularly responsible for the abolition of slavery in England, he certainly brought it about many years before it otherwise would. One man can indeed make a big difference.

This seemed to be a good balanced book about America’s preeminent founding father. Being made aware of many of the details of Washington’s life both before and during his presidency helps me understand that America could be in a very different place right now except for his influence on her in the early years. Washington was far from perfect, just like all of us, but he set this Nation on a good course.
