Almost done with the audible version. Learning Nabeel has died, after reading the book, I felt like I lost a friend. His book has left such an impact on me. I am still listening to the chapters written by his friends and his wife, but I love to read it next time.

Good read so far. Although it would've been better if he put resources in some of his study laims in the first chapters...

Not a lot of stories can sustain this level of intrigue up to the last page. ADL just does it with how the author wrote the last 2% of the book with Clarke's coup. Amazing writing ✍️ 👏

Took a while before I liked the book (at 35%) but I'm a happy o stayed.

"Why am I the only one here when all you're offering is you?" - hitting me with a hammer would've hurt less, not gonna lie

That's how you make a reader intrigued! I've always liked books with alternating POV of the leads (if well-written -> yes i am judging you Allegient!!!) but this one being one on the present (R) and the other 10years ago (G) made this book an automatic exciting read for me.

Chapter 29 and we got the Miranda Cosgrove mention. Sounds like Jeannette had a good impression of her.

Chapter 30... J reallyyyy like Miranda 😭 I love how she acknowledged M being cool and funny, and independent. And now I'm sad because of the comment about having AIM (when I don't think she has one but pretended she did)

I spoke too soon - chapter 27's "Mom showers me with my brother, he's 16 at this point" is a contender.

There are a lot of moments Jeannette's mom disgusted me but Chapter 25's calorie restriction (or should I say road to eating disorder) for a teenage girl is probably the worst (so far).

Sonny's only redeeming quality is his love for his family especially his little sister Connie, who even when getting beaten by his husband, was not protected by the other Corleones.

Done with Book 1 (Part 1) of The Godfather... and I must say, that was wiiild.

I vaguely remember the movie but reading this book made me realize how talented Mario Puzo is... he wrote the book, wrote the screenplay, and directed the movie!

On my quest to re-read THG trilogy...

Sunrise on the Reaping made me wanna re-read THG. I realized I read this book 2nd year of college when I was 17 and I barely remembered the details.

Story is too slow for me, but I like Neil and Rowan, so I'm finishing this book 😆

I love good whodunit movies, so I wanted to see if I will have the same feelings towards books. Where else to start except this book favored by the good-old sub reddit of r/booksuggestions... lezzgo my first AC book!

I don't remember if I've ever read a book where I'm waiting for the protagonist's lies to be public 🫠 June's jealousy of Athena, even if she tries to downplay it, is nothing done by Athena herself but she speaks as if A actively sabotaged her. Yikes.

Chapter 6 (Tails, you win) is something you should read at least once in your life.
