Give Hugh Laurie an award for actually asking “Did you put your name in the Goblet of Fire?” calmly.

Perfect timing on the release of this one. Exactly one week after seeing Cursed Child on Broadway, I was needing a refresher. Its plot and characters are so pivotal to the play and I have the movie (and LEGO video game levels) so ingrained in my memory, I knew I needed to go back to the original source to fill in the blanks.

Hey it’s 250+ pages and I’m going cover to cover with this bad boy, so back off, I’m counting it.

Heh, sick burn all around.

I’ve always been in the “ay-tee ay-tee” pronunciation camp, but can finally understand those who prefer “at at” if for nothing else than making it fit more easily into the ten-syllable lines of Shakespearean verse.

However, I would argue that my way fits the stressed/unstressed iamb pattern better. But tom-A.T.-o, tom-at-o, I suppose.

Chapter 26 is like that scene in Crazy, Stupid, Love where everything hits the fan all at once. But you know, more gothic-y and less Gosling-y.

“‘Tis finish’d, Anakin, the triumph’s mine.
Here I do claim the high ground, yea, and all
The keen advantages it offereth…
Thou wert the chosen one, who should destroy
The Sith, not join their frightful company.
Thou shouldst have brought new balance to the Force,
Not leave it underneath a veil of dark.
Thou wert to me a brother, Anakin
I lov’d thee so, shall sadly mourn thy death.”

“Die, light, die, any good that ever was,
Die, wisdom; yea, die, virtue, die, respect,
Die, honor, die, nobility, die, right—
These qualities shall perish on this day.
For lo, the Sith do ply their merry tricks,
Come, death: thy name is order sixty-six.”
