Challenging but illuminating

Empathetic, insightful, Tyler Stanton always says it like it is but now giving language to the wordless crisis perhaps this generation has had with the gap between Scripture and lived experience.

The chapter where he wrote about how one day we will all die completely wrecked me… Just could not stop crying as I went through the words of that chapter. The other chapter where he wrote about how the most important thing about us is our view of God wrecked me too — if the way I live is directly related to what I believe about God, I have had a very, very wrong view of God.

I literally read the first preface of the book (it has two prefaces) and I had to put the book down because I started bawling my eyes out, I was so convicted and cut to the heart.. He wrote about how rather than using the information in the book to analyse ourselves, we need to be deeply taught by God. Which basically confronted how I have been using books this whole time… really convicted to change the way I read.
