They give no reason to trust their prison guards they’re trying to escape from (which implies distrust) yet they’re also believing them to give the plot something to try hanging on. But at least one of them is *described* as logical…but not logical enough to question anything?

Author enforced ignorance, hiding reasons from MC and readers…irritating and honestly feels damn lazy. Maybe it’s all a dream 🙄

A few chapters in:
One clear suspect from readers point of view, can’t tell if the author thinks they’re being subtle or if they’re trying to play misdirection. The problem is, don’t really care.

So wild guess: child horror+prayer=renewed faith in god 🙄 the more “prayer” and bible study bullshit the more I want to throw it in the DNF pile

35% in and I’m reminded about the first book. I think I was too nice in my review. There is a lot of emotional abuse, references to child abuse, etc. the emotional abuse isn’t dealt with it’s raged about then they make out…if there was some coming to terms, improving of sentiment over time etc. it’d be another thing but it’s their one true love so clearly everything gets brushed aside after bitching a lot

Listening to the audio book.
A lot of circling around the same things and complaining about issues as if they’re fresh from the internet, but they’ve been around for decades. Going to skip to the practical section but honestly don’t know what I’ll get out of it.

I feel like he could have convinced us to follow the game plan in less than half the time.
