Half way through the book, just finished the half from Lotto's pov. Lotto is a bit of a silly man and I can see how there could be so much going on which he is oblivious to. His ego blinds him. I am enjoying the writing, its often poetic and the final chapter was so well described you could see the dream. I also enjoy the plays and the opera was truly stunning.

I wish I liked Nora more but I find her pretty irritating. She says "What???" constantly...

I really hope there is a twist ahead that makes me feel anything for Cass besides annoyance. I get shes meant to be stressed, paranoid and worried about a diagnosis but...its still amazing how the character lacks any ability to stop and think before she acts.

The summary says that this book can be read as a stand alone though it is #4 in a series. I'm not too far in but so far it is constantly making references to the previous books so I do not think that part of the book summary is correct unfortunately.

I thought that the relationship between Robin and Matt was cringy in Career of Evil. It is now an absolute disaster and I am growing more and more irritated that with Robin in general.

Robin is rather ridiculous in this book of the series. She is very childish, doesnt listen to anything Strike says and throws too many temper tantrums. I also dont get how she genuinely believes she has as much of a right to the business as Strike and think she should be a partner. Especially when strike is the one taking all the financial risks.

I never write something while I'm just starting a book..but I just have to say I'm enjoying it so far. It has 'You ' vibes and I really appreciate that there is actually a female main character who is childfree!!!
