starting this book 10 years too late, it’s been sitting in my shelves for sooooo long but I’m finally doing it

A few chapters in and it’s lowkey giving raven boys energy. Fancy private school, Virginia countryside, an important forest, queer boys with troubled lives… I’m just saying

I am only 3 chapters in and this is already the most relatable character I’ve probably ever read about

Declan and Jordan’s slow burn is making me go FUCKING FERAL

My goodreads is such a mess…. I’ve barely been reading for the past couple of years (except rereading TRC over and over LMAO) but I’m trying to get back into it and leave my comfort zone of only rereading my fave books 🙅🏻‍♀️🤞🏽

Soo… am I the only one that finds this book lacking? I’ve tried reading it when it came out but halfway through I stopped bc I was so lost and frustrated. I’ve reread the entire raven boys series for the 300th time recently and I’m excited to finish the dreamer trilogy (also scared af) but this book is not giving me the feels the rest of the series does. It feels rushed? and the plot is all over the place..

I don’t know if I’m not listening to the audiobook attentively enough but so far this book feels so all over the place? It’s just pov after pov but no one really knows what is going on and nothing really happened up until now. I almost want to start over from the beginning bc it feels like I am missing something. What’s going on lol

Sooo... this has been sitting on my shelf since the day it came out. I thought I’d drop everything I’m doing to finally read this long awaited baby but then I kept delaying it bc of the fear of it being over and having to wait another few years for the next one. Ohh, the struggle lol! And I think my fear is justified, I just started this and am already a third of the way through.. why is this book so tiny??? help

Almost half way through the year and I’ve only now picked up my first book of 2021. I’ve been struggling with not wanting to read AT ALL. There was a time where I dropped everything I was doing when a new V.E. Schwab book was released. I remember hearing V talk about the premise of this book years ago, in 2016, and I was excited for it ever since. So happy I finally decided to pick it up!

I wasn’t really planning on rereading the whole series instead of finally reading the million books on my tbr but here we are I guess

I can’t concentrate on anything new and I felt like dirt so I started listening to the audiobook to fall asleep cause I needed some comfort but I ended up listening to the whole book again lol what would I do without these losers

Magic, road trips, found family, mostly queer poc characters, no love interest?????? This is everything i could ever ask for I’M SO EXCITED !!!

So I’m only a few pages in but I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of the writing style. I personally don’t really like first person POV and the writing overall feels kinda choppy? I just feel like it is telling me things instead of showing them which makes it kinda hard to get immersed. BUT I don’t wanna judge too soon, I’ve been excited to read this book for weeks, I just hope I can look past the writing

This book has taken such a tragic turn that I did not expect AT ALL and it spiraled me into an anxiety attack so I had to put it aside for a few days but I’m back, wish me luck

don’t @ me but I’m way more interested in the politics in this book than their relationship. Why do they have to SO soppy and horny ALL the time. I realized this is why I keep taking breaks from this book, it just reads so much like a fanfic. Don’t get me wrong I love a good fic but I don’t want that for a whole book. Also their dirty talk makes me cringe so hard lmao pls stop it

dnf-ing this for now. I enjoyed it so far but couldn’t really get into it. I’ll get back to it some other time!

Maybe I’m having such a hard time getting through this because of the audiobook? Don’t get me wrong the narrator is great but this book has so much texting, emailing and media in it and I feel like it doesn’t translate that well through the audiobook? Idk I’ll try to push through this middle part bc I adored the beginning and I’m looking forward to the rest but rn I’m feeling kind of unmotivated about it

I started this quite a while ago but got kinda bored halfway through and set it aside. Gonna give it another shot, hopefully I can get through it this time
