It's been less than 24 hours and I'm almost done with this book. I'm not exaggerating when this is the BEST book I've read from 2018.

SO MUCH of this book has just GOOD advice for teens. And it's such a great story. I'm laughing and squealing and I'm on the edge of my seat!

This book is literally too sad to continue. Great writing, but the story has SO MUCH going on with an overwhelming amount for the characters and readers to deal with. Maybe another time.

Unpopular opinion: When will this torture end?!

I've heard Kristin Cashore describe SO MANY unnecessary elements that this book could easily be over by now if someone had just been a bit more ready with the red ink in editing. I did NOT need to know how Po eats his cooked goose and did NOT need to know that Katsa stepped over a stick on her way to the pond.

The horror. The horror! I am only battling through the poorly edited and sloppily written text because I believe there has to be a good story hidden in here somewhere. I'll get back to you once I've waded through the cliches though...
