The whole second sequence's most memorable bits were the Barbarian who would protect Rincewind and Twoflower if they took heroic pictures of him, as well as how hard Rincy tried to avoid saying the number that is the sides of a square x 2, lol. That camera is coming in handy. Also loved the Lady winning her board game, upsetting the rest of the Gods. And Death continuing to be disappointed.

Guessing I'm about a third of the way through the first Discworld book - my head is spinning, lol. I think I'm going to come to really enjoy this series. An inept wizard who spats gobbledygook before kicking a guard in the nuts, Death offering help for killing, a fat tourist teaching e-co-noh-mics and in-sure-ants - all on the top of a flying turtle heading maybe to another for the Big Bang. Fantasy absurdist fun!

I'm guessing, with 1.5 hours left in my Audiobook, that this is where I stand with Assassin's Apprentice - and it's kinda sad that it feels more like a chore to finish, then something I'm actively excited for. I'll likely wrap it up this week - if I can be bothered to do so.

As I start Fool Moon, it already feels like a breath of fresh air. In a world of so many fantasy epics I'm attempting to read - having something smaller, more fun in nature, and a mystery - I'm greatly looking forward to this, and already appreciate the nods to Storm Front.

Clearly I have the wrong copy of the book I'm tracking here, since I'm still like 300 pages away from finishing it - however - we're in the endgame now, I think. All the main players are once again on the Shattered Plains, in theory, looking for a crysalis for Shallan - in actually, this is now drawn out through two chapters I believe - it feels like something big is about to go down. Sanderlanche! Sanderlanche!

Rough page count since the book isn't in front of me - basically - honor is dead, but Kaladin is a badass, and has given me another epic scene to remember. Renarin as well. I'm a bit disappointed in Dalinar - between making Amaram a Radiant, and enforcing Elhokar's prison sentence. Also, Eldueschkar is my new name for that stupid King.

Brief peak into the life of Solo - in which, nothing is really happening, beyond him waiting and bonding with Elise. It reminds me of why I wasn't as high on Wool as others were - but it's early, and likely to get better.

This is the first Audiobook I've listened to in the past three years in which I can honestly say I'm not giving it a fair shake. I'll finish it, to be sure - but the finer details of what's happening in this story are getting lost to me, and it's not because of the writing, but rather, how fragmented life is right now. Last I recall, Fitz was training with Galen, the weapon master - and the Raiders are coming.

I'm guestimating my progress but that should be pretty close to accurate - and I thoroughly enjoyed this last chapter. Watching Shallan infiltrate Amaram's room, to discover (from left field!) that Helaran was killed by Amaram... well, I suppose she and Kaladin now have something in common. Meanwhile, Kaladin, not flying but totally flying ("wind running") was amazing. We're nearing the endgame!

I'm a little past the halfway mark of the book, and it is enjoyable, but I do find myself wanting Sanderson to "get to the point." That said, I know how highly reviewed this book is, which makes me think the Sanderlanche will be next level - and I LOVED the ending of The Way of Kings. Here - Shallan has just met Kaladin a second time, and is about to confront Dalinar - looking forward to seeing how that pans out!

One chapter in, to say it will be a culture shock going from Dungeon Crawler Carl, to this, is a massive understatement! I find myself wanting to cozy up with a blanket in front of a fire, say darling, and drink tea. Fitz’s story thus far seems a sad one - abandoned as he was.

I'll finish it today - having listened to the book through chapter 24 so far. I'm confident in saying I've enjoyed this one quite a bit more than the first Carl book, perhaps going so far as a 4-star review. It's just crazy, fun entertainment, but with some deeper things going on too - Heather, Manasa, GumGum, Hekla and Baustista... I'm interested to see how it all plays out!

Just finished chapter 52 of 59. Yeah... I believe this book is earning an out-of-respect-for-an-insane-third-act, 5 stars. We'll see how these closing chapters play out - but everything with Bayaz, Yoru, Jezal, Logen, Ferro (worried about her), and Glokta and Ardee? It's all super satisfying to see the pieces fall together like this - I'm highly impressed.

Ok! Things are happening. In Adua, Glokta is torn in his investigations, and seems to have come to a realization. Jezal is miserable as King with Terez. The Gurkish are coming - hooray for more Ferro chapters to come! Definitely the highlight of the recent chapters has been Helm's Deep... er... the High Places... and Gandalf's... er.. West's eleventh hour save! Black Dow had a surprisingly heartfelt farewell to Tull.

Guessing, after mowing yesterday and having the Audiobook on, that I'm around 20% done with this one. It's playing out much like the first - kinda of a "eh" "read" for me - but Donut being taken out, his concern for her, and the whole subplot with Grimaldi's circus I actually found very entertaining - so for me, it's probably a step up thus far from the first book - I hope that continues!

If I had to guess, I'm roughly a quarter of the way through the Audiobook on this one - Jezal's turn as King, and Bayaz's wizardry in making it happen, are definitely the highlights for me so far. I question where Glokta's story is going - did not enjoy him messing with my favorite Navigator, and now worry about Ferro (who I sorely miss from book two). West messing with Kroy and Poulder was super fun.

Rough estimate of my page count, since I don't have the book on me - enjoying this one, but not as much as the first thus far. I do think something big will happen between Kaladin and Adolin eventually - and loved the chapter with Zahed's introduction (Vasher!). Shallan's story hasn't been great for me since the intro of Tvlakv, but her backstory I'm very interested in. Feel's Dalinar is sidelined thus far.

I find myself wondering how this series will end! That I’ve picked it up as quickly as I have, with no lull between, shows I’m invested in these characters and that world. I’ve heard the first two setup books pay off beautifully here, and I can’t wait to find out how!

With six chapters left (I assume roughly 25%) - while I do believe this book is more entertaining than "The Blade Itself," I would also say it's about on the same level for me - consistently enjoyable, yet nothing amazing to blow me away yet. The ending of Dagoska was interesting, I still wonder about Sult's plotting (three Guilds down by my count), and as Bayaz acquired a boat - are we in the endgame of his journey?

If I had to guess, I’m about here in the AudioBook. I really enjoyed the back half of part one - the first real attack threat Logen’s crew had to face (poor Jezal) - Glokta figuring out the truth about the traitors in Dagoska, and Ladisla’s incredibly arrogant failure. Things are definitely happening here, though I’m surprised we haven’t had any meaningful deaths yet in a grim dark story.

I'm enjoying "Before They Are Hanged," but again find myself wondering when all this setup will pay off. Glokta's story isn't as interesting to me as the other two parties - I have a feeling Ladisla's group will get walloped, and the fantasy party of Bayaz, Quai, Logen, Jezal, Ferro and Brother Longfoot may be my new favorite fantasy party ever assembled. Logen is becoming my favorite character in the series.

Excited to get back into this world - I checked out this one on a whim from the library, and now feel like I need to get it "read" before it's due back, so should be a quick "read" (Audiobooks aren't reading, they're consuming, lol). I look forward to more of Glokta's exploits, as well as (strangely) more time with Logen Ninefingers... a guy I was kinda disinterested in most of that first book.

Started listening to the audiobook this morning after wrapping up The Martian and doing dishes. I was lukewarm on the original book but a crazy site-wide sale brought me here (I got all six first books for maybe a combined $30). It’s a super promising start - more depth already (Primals talk), plus I enjoyed the classes / race descriptions. Here we go Level 3! The training is out of the way, thankfully!

If Jasnah truly is dead (and I don’t believe it) - that was both convincing (scene plus Navani’s notes) and shocking - easily the first death of that magnitude in the Stormlight Archive thus far. I’ve also enjoyed seeing Kal in Dalinar’s employ - and his efforts to unite the Alethi highprinces.

Leaning heavily toward a "liked it" score for this one - it's a fun book, a silly, absurdist book that would be very enjoyable to watch on the small screen - but I'm finding I need more meat to the bones here - perhaps Dinniman will give that to me before it's all said and done. There's certainly the potential, and glimpses of it I've seen along the way.

I really have no idea how this series is going to end, which is why I think I'm compelled as I enter the final chapter of the Silo saga. Wool was good, Shift was even better to me for how it expanded the world so much - and Dust will now tie those two stories, and those three Silos, together (including 18). I hope we emerge from the ashes. In Juliette's grit I trust!

God I'm already loving this book and returning to this world. I not only love the characters - I love the journey - which makes it so the 1,303 pages in front of me aren't daunting, but rather, something I eagerly, but with a slower pace, look forward to reading. It's a pleasure, honestly. I'm in the middle of returning to Bridge Four - let's freaking go.

It's time. I've read several fantasy and sci fi books that have entertained me, without blowing me away into that amazing territory, in a row. I need something on that deeper level that will hit me, emotionally. The Way of Kings was perhaps my favorite fantasy book of all time, and Words of Radiance is often considered better. Can't wait to delve further into it.
