Can I just say, I don't like Josh?? Yeah? Cool.

I'm trying to finish this before I run out of renewals with the library. It's interesting but I keep starting and stopping it.

I just...can we get to the point already??

All these bloody military acronyms. Am I intrinsically supposed know what they mean?

Honestly this book could have ended with Tatiana finally getting pregnant after 15 years of trying. These pages dedicated to Anthony being MIA in the Vietnam War is just...dragging things unnecessarily. Whyyy???

You know, Alexander it wouldn't kill you one time, just one time to listen to Tatiana when she tells you about people. How much better your life would be if you'd stop thinking and treating your wife like she's the naive 17 yr/old girl you met.

Don't tell me they are about to head back to the Soviet Union to try to rescue Alexander's mama who might not even be alive. But considering how long this story is...I'm tired. I'm really, really tired.

I am laughing. Little Alex Jr flat out asked Tatiana "When is that man going back where you got him from?" He is ready for Alexander to go.

This girl is a 2nd amendment loving man's wet dream. She's purchased an arsenal of weapons to bust her man outta whatever prison/jail/camp he's being held in. I have to laugh.

I'm going to have to table this one for later. Maybe it was naive on my part but I wasn't expecting it to read like a thesis. Gotta be in a specific mood and mindset to dissect the meat of the matter.

I'd really like to know what the characters look like. I've been fooled by book covers before.

So Tatiana's entire family is wiped out and now she's living in a new community with even more overbearing people, where once again she and Alexander have to pretend not to be into each other. I am exhausted and I am exhausted for them. Sheesh.

Well this is bloody depressing. The costs of war...is endless.

I think I'd be enjoying this more if Sarah and Reese didn't repeat the same thoughts. I got it, y'all in pain because of your past and you like piano. Is there anything else to them??

You know, I'd like to know what these characters look like. All I have to go on is skin and eye color, well at least for 4 out of the 7 characters that's been introduced. Everyone is just a voice from the narrator's 1st POV.

This book is so confusing. I still detest Damon even despite what happened during his childhood. Dude needs therapy.

I think I'm going to table this one. I don't want to DNF right now, but being a little over halfway into this and they still haven't kissed, haven't really acknowledged their attraction to one another to each other, yeahhh, no. I like a slow burn but this is sloth slow.

I'm almost halfway done and so far there's been like 4-5 scenes because most of this book is the recycled machinations and thoughts of the main characters. I want to like this author but her writing style leaves much to be desired.

I'm still questioning why I bought this book because Summer has all of the characteristics I can't stand. I like Fitz. There are just sometimes I wish these types of books are written in 3rd person instead of 1st because being trapped in a vapid yt girl's head...hard pass.

Here I am at the halfway mark and I'm still waiting for something to happen. Its just the same scenario being repeated. At this point who is the main couple supposed to be? Or there isn't one and that's the point and I'm missing it?

I got the kindle version of this book and twice scenes have jumped. Its either missing pages or what have you. But one minute I'm reading a scene where Sadie is talking to her husband, they are home alone, and the next paragraph her mother is asking her a question about her sister. WTH. Where did they come from? I thought she was off to take a shower to enjoy a boring Friday night with her husband?

I'm kind of struggling with this book because there's just not enough dialogue. A character will ask a question or say something but then before the other character responds there's paragraphs of introspection. I keep forgetting what people are talking about because the conversation is not flowing uninterrupted.

I am loving this book so much. Love the Carter family , their dynamics, the relationship Starr has with her parents.

The writing is kind of basic and the pace of the story is sluggish. Heh.

I've waited for this book for a loonngggg time, but I have to say that I'm a bit turned off by how constantly turned on Viggo and Scarlett are by one another. Especially THIS early in the book and there's 630 odd pages left for me read. I'm wondering if they can have an adult conversation without mentally undressing one another. Sheesh.

Started Act II and I have to take a pause because these girls are stressing me out. I appreciate the girls being complex and layered. But their drive to be the best ballerina at any cost borders on psychotic. Nevertheless, this is an engaging read.

I've teared up a few times reading this.

Started this yesterday, I'm at that 57%. It's pretty decent.
