The first story in the collection is outstanding. I'm excited to read the rest of them!

It turned out I had time to finish it after all!

Putting this collection on pause until the late summer or fall.

I guess I'm not going to finish this. Too much repetition makes it a pretty boring memoir.

One more section/story to go! The Strike was a real slog.

So far my favorite stories in this collection are In the Cafe, God's Tea Party, and A Thousand Drops. It might just have been my state of mind, but I think Drops might be one of the best stories I've ever read.

Why should we need lots of nostalgia to licence any pleasure taken in the discoveries that we carry over from childhood, when it is now so clearly an adult pleasure?

I'm only on page 28, but I'm pretty sure I know whodunnit already, and the murder hasn't happened yet! Still, though, I'm enjoying it.

well, i waited a couple of weeks, and now i feel even less interested. it's just too boring! it seems to be mostly about moving furniture and sex in the park. and glass jewelry.

not sure i feel compelled to finish

Disappointing. Boring and ergonomically unpleasant to read on the subway. I have to set this aside for now.
