This was going so well. Why did the author all of a sudden start treading the "way too much coincidence" train and "ignore the curtain here".

Wylie has multiple flashlights with her on a stay at a VRBO? And a headlamp in her car? Who actually does that?
So the car is in flames now and the woman is missing? But Wylie doesn't even think about the woman moving to the truck and go to check?

The narrator for this audiobook is so good! I'm here for it. The different voices for the characters reminds me of Jim Dale. It's so fun. 😻

I can't do this book. I'm 38% in and the character both young and old is the worst, most annoying character ever. The character is completely flippant over her own rape. There are vague references about some incident, but not enough of a hint for me to even care what happens.
I get the feeling Knoll's books aren't for me. Second book and same vibes. I'm out.

Man, Patricia Briggs really makes sex scenes sound so stupid and silly. I'm also REALLY over the "nudge" joke. I swear if I rolled my eyes any harder, my eyes would roll out of my head. 🙄🙄🙄🙄

This book feels like such a mess.

This book is like The Ocean at the End of the Lane meets A Wrinkle in Time, but like-more adult. It's weird.

Why is one of the detectives pushing a "serial killer" angle? There's one body? No indication of it as a repeat? Or that it will happen again?
Also, what's up that arrest based one timeline only an no real physical evidence? Who's running this show? Amateurs.

Just making quick references for myself.
Baldacci does a pretty good job world building. I do wish there was at least a little description when it came to speaking people. In my mind I lump everyone together with the different labels more in title only.
My other thing so far is it's REALLY slowed down in the last few chapters. It was so exciting initially with all the intrigue.

My inner English major loves this book so much. There is so much simple, beautiful prose (ALREADY).
