so far, it's been incredibly boring, but this is mostly due to the fact that Dick, in keeping with his romantic author, is overly naive (call it innocence if you want)

I'm personally and deeply offended. The sea is the best landmark ever!!!

I'm doubtful this book will be as good as the first. Mainly because writing a good sequel to a book that was already complete is highly challenging.

Why am I feeling so unmotivated about this book?

Why do I get this feeling that something dreadful is going to happen after something good just did? Is it merely my tendency to the melancholy? No, it's that diabolical laugh, the Mr. Eyre letter, and Mr. Rochester 's haunting past none of which are resolved.

How can you be such a fool, Mr. Rochester!? Totally loving this book, but right now I'm getting the part where "[I] almost don't want to read to the end because how can the end be happy?"
