This book lives up to the legacy of the other books in this series. Lily has clearly taken great pains to research the work that she's paired with her fantastic signature art style. Like the other books, I'd not hesitate to recommend this to kids and adults alike. I've learned something new from all of her books, and I suspect so will you!

So far this is a heartbreaking story that puts a human face on immigration policies.

I’m making slow progress on this book, but I’m savoring it. I love the vocabulary and this story and series has an Odd Couple charm and appeal that finds me chuckling out loud.

I was pleasantly surprised with how much this book resonated with me. It's an uncomfortable read with some uncomfortable truths for Americans that clearly still hold in today's world, and it's something that I think ought to be required reading for kids in school today to learn a bit about empathy for those who they perceive as being different.

Really fantastic read! It has stakes, twists, double-crosses, and intrigue. I definitely felt Jeannie was toying with my emotions.
