42% in, and I’m hooked! Anne Rice has created an intricate family history full of secrets and supernatural mysteries. I’m loving the New Orleans atmosphere and already forming theories about the family connections. Despite its length, I keep wanting to read more!

I’m on Chapter 19 (29% through). So far, the story feels slow, and the characters seem immature. At times, I feel like I’m reading a teen movie rather than the mystery I was expecting.

Thought provoking from the beginning.

Maybe it's because I know the story. I just can't stay engaged.

I'm saving my final verdict for the book until I have finished. So far, it has been very good.

This is really good. It's nice to revisit Hogwarts too.
