I think I have finally found the rightful successor to Iain M. Banks and his Culture series. It is not nearly as character-driven, but hella good.

Mason's prose and execution is a throwback to Iain M. Bank's or Gene Wolf. I'm really impressed and I haven't been this excited to immerse myself in a new book in quite a while.

What a fantastic ride thus far. Highly recommended!

Oh Don. This one's going on ice. I never thought I'd read one of your's that I can't get into. I read a great deal about Transhumanism. I feel you may have missed the mark on this one.

so far....brilliant. I'm approaching the final 50 pages, where it is expected to crash and burn. TBD.

I find the similarities between David Mitchell's The Bone Clocks and Banks's Transition uncanny. This is the second time I had to give this book a go. I'm glad I picked it back up. Banks's prose and intellect and untouchable.

It's been a while since I've read a Reynold's novel. This is by far my favorite.

I have never been so enthralled with a book. I ordered the hardcopy on Amazon, then began to read the Kindle sample. I became so hooked I ordered the entire electronic version that night and made it to page 150 before the hardcopy version arrived. I highly recommend this book to any science fiction fans.
