Someone who worked on the show (producer? writer? idk) being quoted about the Lindsay storyline, but that person not being able to remember the character's name as they talk about her, is a *chef's kiss* detail to leave in.

"It's just a school project." "So was Facebook."
Is an amazing line.

- And I'm so excited to see this get adapted again. There's so much in the dialogue that is never included in the prose - ex: Lee mentioning translating poetry followed by "No don't worry, I won't read any." Which is hilarious! You can imagine the men's faces, but it's never detailed.

A few halfway through thoughts:
- If I tried to read this book for the first time now, I would bounce off of it so hard. The amount of philosophizing would not work for me. But I still love it! Because the book has imprinted on my teenage brain. Maybe something to be said there for forced school reading lol.

I have been "reading" this book for about 3 months now. I might finish it someday.

Oh my god, I'm already laughing so much. Thanks Worst Bestsellers for convincing me this was worth a try, because I never would have otherwise.

If anyone has tips on how to get my Kindle to stop marking books read, I'm all ears. I don't have it selected as an option on my Kindle but it still keeps doing it anyway, and way before I'm even finished with the book.

I ... do not care about stamp intrigue plots this much.

This book is Not Great and I am usually all for DNF-ing but for some reason I feel compelled to keep going.

Putting this aside for now at p.75. I really want to get into this, but it's not grabbing me. I might try again in a colder month.

When you realize you've had one of the best books of 2017 sitting on your shelf for over 10 months and still haven't read it... 😞

I'm only one issue into this but I am really not feeling it so far...who are all these characters? I need more introduction.

All the Audible reviews on this book complained about the narrator mispronouncing words, but I gave it a go anyway. Then she mentioned the movie "Ex Muh-sheen-uh" instead of "Ex Machina" and really? What is wrong with these producers? I'm going to continue listening, but I really wish this had a better narrator. She's robotic and it's as if she isn't getting the jokes she is reading.

I get the vast majority of my books through the library (physical, ebook, and audio) - but I just finished Cinder and even though I was already on the waitlist for this one, it was going to take too long. Major TAKE MY MONEY moment.

I am 30 minutes into this audiobook and it is already one of my favorite things of 2016. All hail Shonda.

Which should I tackle first: Robinson's Gilead trilogy or Ferrante's Neapolitan quartet? I haven't read any of either series yet.

My favorite thing about Goodreads today is the number of people finishing books all in the same afternoon, because everyone is clearly snowed in.

Why did nobody warn me that this is the slowest book in existence? Is it just me?
