Time for a reread before the sequel.

This book is batshit crazy. like this is so deranged.

If I had a dollar for every time “solar plexus” was used, I could have paid for this book.

The writing is so bad I want to finish this book to be done with it.

WHY IS NO ONE TALKING ABOUT THE LACK OF PUNCTUATION. WHY IS THIS SO HARD TO READ.

Because then, suddenly, they’re incredibly proud, but they’re proud of the accomplishment, not of the work. So you feel like you have to keep accomplishing instead of just creating. It affirms the idea that the value in what you do is how people react to it, and not just the making of it.

“On my phone, it’s a blur of blue-black pixels. The most beautiful things never hold up on a screen.”

This book needs to come with a trigger warning or something.

Already time for a reread because I can’t stop thinking about it

Gilmore Girls vibe with a Hallmark small town romance.

The descriptions of New York really drive me INSANE. Has the author ever lived in New York?! I LOVE Christina Lauren but this is painting NYC in such a weird way.
First of all - the FMC takes a cab from Brooklyn to midtown at least 3 times a week AND pays for the subway just to see a musician she has a crush on? But she’s making minimal salary.
She somehow takes a subway to Jersey from Brooklyn (yes, subway)

The writing jumps in time often. At one point there’s a modern style sentence where “everything is fine” and then there’s a 1940’s phrase “that’s the honey in the pot”.

It drives me nuts how many times Elizabeth is called “the future Queen of England” in the last 1/3 of this book. She was never expected to be Queen. Her father doesn’t die until 1952.

“As soon as she bought us a kettle so we’d stop boiling water in the microwave, everything changed for the better”

This book gets me.

“People can enjoy reading and still maintain a healthy attachment to reality, Will,” I drawl. “I’m not a social pariah because I like fiction”

2 pages in and there’s serious Russian stereotypes and jokes. Not okay with this. Ooof.

“I will however accept your invitation to be invited and never come. That sounds like an excellent time. I also enjoy not answering calls, not networking, never leaving the house, and hanging out with my dog”

Dude, I get it.

Let’s give this another try now that I’ve read the first one
