This book is 765 pages (not 800) and with about 200 left, it still seems like a lot has to happen. Not just in the Gabriel's story, but the story in real time. I'm a little nervous now, as to how all this will end

These characters can be so frustrating 😩

Kristoff did the best he could to recap, since a couple years passed between Empire/Vampire and Empire/Damned.
But I'm definitely wishing I read this sooner, or re-read the first... there are a whole lot of nuances that I'm forgetting and I'm spending so much time looking back.

Sometimes when you love a story, and love the characters like they're your own friends, it's sad to see where things get taken later on in the book 😑 I can't say that I'm pleased with certain choices being made. (Not a strike against the author or the book. Just wanting to complain in the most non-spoiler way I can)

This whole section was a tough read. Joe puts his characters thru the f'ng ringer!

The character Wallace is like a Ken Follett villain
