I was excited for this novel, but the authors writing is not enjoyable. It feels like I’m being given information instead of the lyrical writing I’m used to. But, I bought this instead of borrowed it from the library so Im determined to see it through.

Laid down to read something before bed and found myself halfway through this book. It’s been on my tbr since it was released. 5/5 so far.

I’m really enjoying this so far. It’s quite a bit different than her normal formula.

Idk why I started this book at 11pm like I’m not going to stay up and read it all tonight. RIP my 8am hair appt.

I love Sarah’s writing so much. Literally everything she’s ever written has resonated so much with me and my thoughts, beliefs and struggles.

This is the best book I think I’ve read in years. The David Copperfield Easter eggs are perfect. It really does change the whole tone of the story having that background.

I have to make dinner, but this book is unputdownable.

Books getting better, but I have many thoughts to post in a final wrap up when I get there.

Lot of rape in this book. How did it win the Pulitzer? I have to be missing something. This is literal trauma porn.

I can’t decide if I’m enjoying this or not.

Not super intrigued, but not *not* intrigued enough to keep going. I just keep comparing Krueger to Wendell Berry and that's not fair to him.
