This book is sooooooo boring. I had high hopes based on the premises, but seeing as I have 11+ hours of reading left, I'm not sure I want to waste my time.

I will probably not finish this book. Although it has great ratings, I've found it to be meandering and boring. The characters ramble on in non-sequiturs about stuff that doesn't matter, sometimes for pages and pages at a time. I've been skipping more and more sections to get to the meat of the story. Is there meat? Who knows! No one ever says what they think or feel, especially given the limited time they have.

Setting this one aside for a while. I'm surprised by the rave reviews since I've found it to be a rambling mess full of non-sequiturs and overly long emotional existentialism. Unfortunately, much of what these characters spend their time and attention on means little to nothing in the grand scheme. I'm wondering if I'll bother finishing it.

I’m really struggling with this book. It’s horribly depressing and absolutely nothing gets better . . . ever! It’s hard to want to pick it back up day after day.

I’ve tried, I’ve really tried but I just can’t put myself through any more of this book. I’m so deeply bored and tired of being talked at not talked to.

Dear Lord, this book is driving me crazy. If this story is only to be told through email and phone conversations, I don't know if I can do it.

I’m really having to limit how much of this book I read a day. Creepy and seriously disturbing. Josie and everything that had to do with her entire family makes my skin crawl.

God, could this book be any more tedious? I’m far enough along to want to finish but bored enough to just move on. Every character sounds like a broken record.

DNF -- This book is horrible and the main character comes across as a complete twit. Stick a fork in me, I'm done!

How come I feel like I fell asleep and woke up in the middle of an experimental film with no idea what's going on? Honestly, the dialog in this book is dizzying. And have I mentioned that the word "Bunny" has been used at least 5,895 times already? I'm not sure if I can make it through the second half of this book, it's literally wearing me down to a nub.

I find this author's writing style incredibly frustrating. My first guess was that she was a first-time author (yet I see that she's written a number of novels!) because she alternates between being abstruse to over-explaining everything. It's especially frustrating when characters literally spell things out for the audience through banal dialog. I may/may not finish this story but I'll never read her stuff again.

Gah! Is this book ever going to end?? I'm absolutely shocked by how highly reviewed it is, I'm honestly bored out of my skull. I feel like I've been reading this sadly repetitive tale for the last 3 years of my life. Will I finish it? Who knows. I'm going to be seriously bitter if I stick around to the end and it's no better than the rest of the book.

I'm not gonna lie, this hasn't been an easy read for me. Even though I was intrigued by the premise, the writing style feels very stilted and the characters are just plain strange (and not in a good way). There's too much minutiae which causes the storyline to drag. It feels like nothing, in particular, is happening most of the time. No one is particularly nice to one another either, conversations feel abrupt.

I think I swooned a little when this book became available through the library for me. I have a deep and abiding love for Erik Larson and his writing style. What can I say, this book hasn't disappointed.

Barely into this book and I already hate the two main characters. Okay, perhaps just the female lead but the male lead seems incapable of picking up on the slew of red flags that are being waved in his face. Geez. The entire premise of this story makes me feel uncomfortable so it may be time to move on.

I'm already not loving this book the way I have some of her previous works. It got off to a slow start with a tediously long self-dialog by a character that's overly self-pitying and hypocritical. She literally gripes about every tiny thing right down to a paper cut. Ugh. But willing to see where this takes me. Please don't let me down, Laine Moriarty!

Apparently, I'm the only person on the planet struggling with this book. I'm having a really hard time engaging. Is it because it talks about absolutely nothing but hockey 24/7? Is it because the writing structure is repetitive and doesn't really flow for me? Is it because every single person in this book is desperately unhappy? Hard to say. Just wondering if I'll make it to the end.
