The "tribe" doesn't pay taxes, doesn't send their kids to public school, and doesn't deal with law enforcement. They're creatures, they're violent, they steal women. Why does it read like the author learned everything about werewolves from Stephanie Meyer, but then made them more racist?

The theory of logotherapy is certainly interesting, but tying it so much to religion seems contradictory. Now man is not responsible for finding the meaning in his life, it's outsourced to culture. A woman is a failure at finding meaning if she doesn't have children, a handicapped child is merely a source of suffering from which his mother must find meaning, ignoring his desire to live in the face of her suicidality

Maybe this genre just isn't for me... I'm pretty sure that monolog was lifted directly from The Shawshank Redemption.

Maybe the writer is just a better agent than her characters.

I not only don't like the main character, but she's an awful agent. "Our only lead didn't go anywhere..." In what world was that their only lead? I can think of several that they've just been ignoring.
