Rereading to write a paper for class ;)

Trying to zip through this before the semester gets too hectic. My heads been all over the place last few days so it’s been hard to turn the pages.

It’s good so far of course. It’s funny how the writing style is so notable and infamous yet it feels very familiar and easy to read.

Hope to knock this out in the next few days as there is lots of other reading I should be doing.

Surrealism is low key cringe

At times this has truly felt like a slog to power through, but I have to say this book is worthy of every ounce of praise it has received. Junger has such a compelling and unpretentious manner of recounting these grave events and it’s not too bogged down in war talk. Ultimately you come to read this as a tale about vigor, loyalty, friendship and a testament to the finer things in life, like cigarettes and brandy.
