Loving this so far. Alex is a really real character. Roza is intriguing- I'm not sure how I feel about her yet. I want to keep reading, but it is 2:53am and I should really try to get some sleep.

There are some lines I have liked, but the author is reiterating what she is saying multiple different ways, so it is feeling unnecessarily repetitive.

So far genuinely loving this. The voice, the characters, the plot thus far, are all engaging.

I could do without the fatphobic language that's popped up here and there. But I am keen to find out what happens

Enjoying the atmosphere so far. I love deep sea horror, and shipwrecks, and ghosts, so this is a win for me.

Some of the characters are absolute idiots, but we'll see how that goes.

So far so good. The house is really cool. One character is gross and I hope he learns his lesson somehow. The framing device is cool, and we get reminders of it frequently enough that we are never able to be comfortable for too long. Ware's writing style is incredibly readable- it flows so well.

Just finished up with The Dunwich Horror and I really enjoyed it. I liked the academic focus within the later part of the story especially. And the cool twist.

Boy howdy this one is brutal. I hate basically every character thus far, but if you're supposed to like them then I have concerns.

If you can't deal with gore, physical abuse against women, stalking, and child murder, avoid this one.

The second and third stories were kinda lacklustre to me, but the first one, Jerusalem's Lot, was a 5 stars and has thus far still made this book great for me. Hopefully there will be more brilliant stories to gush about.

I wasn't sure I was getting into it, but I started thinking and theorising about it while I wasn't reading it. And it is starting to pick up a bit. I like the multimedia aspect.

The Colour Out of Space- 4/5

• absolute cosmic horror
• we understand more of outer space these days, but this is still unsettling
• fully able to suspend disbelief, which has actually been the case with all three stories I've read thus far- Lovecraft good at this
• oh dear, the fates met here... horrible

The Case of Charles Dexter Ward 5/5

• very creepy
• couldn't stop thinking about it, even when I wasn't reading
• The racism is bad... but I am trying not to let that change my rating- will definitely be addressing it in my proper review though
• all protagonists and antagonists were brilliant
• unfolding occult mystery was super captivating

At the Mountains of Madness
-Shoggoth were cool
- exploring the Mountains was good fun
- I would definitely be one of the idiots who reads the Necronomicon cover to cover
- Human curiosity knows no bounds- we learn a lot but boy do we pay for it

Great so far. Some of the characters irritating, but that isn't a problem for me. It is their personality rather than how the author decided to write them, and you can't like everyone! The tension is ramping up pretty well, and I am enjoying Cath's character. There is some mental illness rep, but I'm not sure how spot on it is- I'd have to see more of it and maybe do some research.

I was lucky enough to receive this ARC from NetGalley, and I am super excited about this. It is from an author I have read and enjoyed before, and you all know that I love a ghost story!!! So far, so good.
