I'm surprised by how easy of a read this is so far.

I think some of this book could have been edited down but I'm still getting through it faster than any book I've read in the past 10 years or so.

Palestine sounds beautiful with the fruit trees and the houses in the villages.

I just read 80 pages of this book in one sitting which is the most number of pages I've read at once since childhood, that's how good this book is. I feel like I've read a whole novel from everything that's already happened. This book has been so good thus far.

Read the glossary and I already need a break from reading, that's how poor my attention span is.

This book is just too long.

Okay I'm getting bored again.

Taking a few months break from reading this book was a great decision because I'm really enjoying it now that I've returned to it!

I forgot what an easy read this book is despite the length.

Enjoying the plotting but my God, Rachel and Nick are so boring.

I don't care about Nick and Rachel, I'm only interested in Astrid and Michael's relationship.

Finally an Indian Singaporean but of course they're the help...

Has Kevin Kwan ever met women? The conversations between the female characters are so cringe, particularly the IM and email conversations! 'XOXO' '@somewhere' 'LOL!' I was cringing so hard.

Okay there's a few things about this book that are rubbing me the wrong way:
1. Why is the author so Islamophobic?? The references to Muslims and attacking them is gross.
2. This author is definitely racist towards South Asians because why is there no mention of all the South Asians who live in Singapore?? He's writing this book like it's only Chinese people who live in Singapore.
