« Fabrice’s wife was hysterical. » seriously? This was written by a woman?? We are still portraying perfectly reasonable and smart women as hysterical in the 21st century? She doesn’t like 12 cigar smokers to meet and smoke in her home NO SHIT NEITHER WOULD I that house is gonna stink for the next ten years, so she lit some scented candles and that makes her hysterical?

The current state of the US is no surprise when you consider this is what the country was built on. Every single page of this book is heartbreaking and infuriating.

I’m liking the mystery but I’m not liking the detective guy, he’s incredibly judgmental and very uptight. Unfortunately he happens to be the main character.

Hart is pissing me off he really doesn’t deserve someone as sweet and hardworking as Mercy. Also all the people around her telling her « you’re never nice to him » like it’s on her somehow, he was a jerk to her first, she doesn’t owe him kindness after that.
