I'm afraid this book, so far, seems to be more of the same. I'm worried.

Klondike Kops start a business? A murder mystery weekend when you don't even know if you want to run a B&B? I'm fond of Ellie, but I'm amazed no one has killed off her friend Mia. She would be more aptly named Pia, which would stand for Pain... you get it. The mystery itself isn't bad, but these guys need to get their act together.

This book is lack luster. I kept waiting for there to be magic somewhere in them, actually literally. The way the beginning sounded, I expected the main character to discover abilities. It would have added a lot to the story. I'm sorry to say I won't be finishing this one.

OK at the end of Chapter 37, I no longer want to smack Newton upside the head. What an irritating little man he is! My least favorite character in this otherwise fabulous series.

I'm in Chapter 12 of this book, and I'm totally out of sympathy with the main character. There is no depth to her and nothing to help me sympathize with her. I'm not sure if I'm going to try and power through to see if things get better, but so far, I don't recommend this book.

I'm not sure why I'm still reading this series. I think this book has been the worse one yet. It doesn't even read as though the author herself wrote it. Huge parts of the book are irrelevant to the story, and boring, and don't read smoothly. I am simply annoyed at the large amounts of diet culture nonsense - this book had less than usual. But the plot of this one was dreadful.

Dear Ms. Fluke: Please explain to me, as though I were Tracey, why Hannah cannot see that the saying "Handsome is as handsome does" should be applied to Mike Kingston? AARGH.

I've taken a while to warm up to this book. I've started thinking of it as a novel rather than as a cozy, since the pacing is very slow.

Some of the characters are coming to life but the main character still seems a bit dim. And some of the people in the book are caricatures still. Yet there is something about the book and some of the people in it that catch at my heart.

This is an amazingly good book. It's a Time Travel genre book written in the first person by a female protagonist.

I'm trying to remember why I reserved this book from the library. The main character seems to be a horrible jerk. Not sure I'm going to finish it.

I don't know if I can finish this book. I can't believe this is the same author as the village library series. It's horrible.

The premise of the book is good. The author jumps tense very often, and needs to work on sentence structure and when to use commas. These things distract from the story, which is a shame, as it is a very interesting plot. So far, I will still recommend reading it.

So far the story itself is good, but TW: diet culture restriction thoughts in first person, as though they are normal. Over the course of the books, these have crept in more and more, as thought the author doesn't eat enough and imbues her character with negative thoughts about foods like lasagna and bread, never mind sweets.

I always read books in order, or almost always, and I think this is the book I have been waiting for in this series. Jules tells us more about what is going on in her head, and communicates with Carlos more. There is also an intricate murder puzzle and some great baking. In addition, the book talks about homelessness, and I do like it when cozy mysteries add a little social commentary into the mix.

Over the course of the last few books, one understands why Carlos never was able to open up to Jules about his past. Since the first book, I have watched her first person account of not reading his letters, not reading legal paperwork, not making time to talk in person, and not calling him back. And complaining about the lack of communication and openness!!
