Already know who's the killer witch. Also, I'm getting bored with the storyline. Man could have caught the Moth a while back if he'd just thought to bring more than one person to a trap against a witch. You'd think a witch hunter captain would think to do so, but no. Plot conveniences always keep her just out of reach and my patience is struggling to catch up. Also, Alex, you deserve better. Go find it.

Heavy and grungy and clinical and precise and structured and chaotic I love that every character is their own living being and they all act in their own favour, not for a tidy set up. Allies clash and move in opposing directions for their own goals and I love it. It makes the story so chaotic and unpredictable and REAL. I have no idea where anything is going and I'm always nervously excited to read more. I'm hooked.

Already spotting potential plot holes with this magic. Witches cut themselves to get blood for their magic, but the cuts turn silver, making it easy to spot a witch. To overcome this, the MC uses her period blood (ik). But how does that small amount of blood even last a whole month of magic without coagulating? Does she have a lab somewhere? And why not use nosebleeds instead? That's more blood and no visible marks!

Book had me hooked in the first few pages and I'm still having a good time, but oh my days this set up is really grating on my nerves. I'm starting to hate Paige and Warden's interactions because they highlight key plotholes that are conveniently stepped over just to force proximity. We need a new way to build up tension other than having to treat each other's wounds.
