Picked this up again after many many months of having not picked it up. Challenging to the inexperienced poetry reader (I couldn’t be more experienced, really; the first bundle I’ve ever picked up) but very rewarding, too! some of the imagery is genuinely beautiful

My first graphic novel!

My third book in a row that I attempt to read, and finally this one seems to stick. Also my very first true Russian classic. I certainly have to get used to the language somewhat but it’s beautiful in many ways so far!

This book is completely unhinged!

Finally getting around to reading this classic. Also for a book club so there’s some pressure for reading this faster, which is a healthy exercise for me :) Having read only Borges in terms of magical realism I had expected something like it, but the magic here feels very different. Strange but very cool so far!

Finished the first and the second story. So far I have been consistently amazed. I love the descriptions of the elements; water, wind, earth, each plays a role in this prose. Really good stuff!
