Today, I start this book that has been sitting on my shelf for a GOOD minute. Years. However, it’s one of those books that I have been itching to read every time I see the spine on my shelf. So, the time has arrived. Let the games begin.

Got done with this a couple of days ago and can't wait to put together a review.

Oh Mylanta. Gresham is dropping some BANGERS in this book. I'm almost done and MAN, this one is a keeper.

Well, suffice to say that mr. Machen does not disappoint in this book. I have been thoroughly enjoying myself. Though this was written in 1923, it is a classic and especially relevant to the church today. Looking forward to writing the review.

Though the book started off a little slow, J. Gresham started putting it down in Chapters 3 and 4. This is really an enjoyable ride and I will look forward to writing a review on this.

I have been looking forward to reading this book for quite some time. The title is simple, yet it implies what it will be about — that the two are not the same. So far, I'm diggin this.

This is classic J. C. Ryle, who I consider one of my mentors. I'll be finished with this tomorrow as me and my wife have read through the book and are on the last chapter. I love this so far, and I'm glad I've added this to my collection which I received from a Ligonier Conference in November of last year.

This book so far is not bad. It's very easy to read. It's not groundbreaking material but it is a helpful reminder for us who need to keep the main thing the main thing. This version says it's 224 pages and my version is only 209 (215 with back matter). So I'm about 25% of the way through this one ready.

Good googly moogly. This has been a slog to get through. It has had its moments, but it's been a hard read. This has been mostly because of pointless repetition. But I've made it through this far and i will soldier on until I'm finished. I have picked up some good nuggets here and there. TBC

Goodness. This is a slog. Not his best work. But there has been a nugget here and there but it's one of those books that will just have you running in circles with extraneous words. I'm going to finish this because I believe he still is saying some things that are solid and he's just getting to the flawed idea of Arminian free will.

So far, the book has been a struggle for me to get through because of the deep repetition and my lack of interest in philosophical gobbledygook. Nevertheless, I'll soldier on to see if it gets better.

I've only just begun this last night and there are some fascinating points in this book. I'm reading it happily and every chance I get at work.

I actually have read this already but wanted to put it in my Goodreads queue so it would register as one of the books I've read. :-). Review is forthcoming.

Classic quote from Abraham kuyper which says "There is not a square inch in the whole domain of our human existence over which Christ does not cry, 'Mine!'". Love it.

So far, so good. First chapter was a solid foundation.

We read through the Bible every year and we’ve adopted a new Bible reading plan which has been great. We’ll use this for next year as well. As always, going through the whole Bible is awesome. Like A.W. Tozer said, it takes a whole Bible to make a whole Christian.

I like to read according to different time periods. I've just finished a 20th-century work (A Christian Manifesto - Francis Schaeffer). I'm going to be reading 19th-century material for a while on Sundays (Holiness - J.C. Ryle) but that is a special thing. So, I have to go back to the 18th-century. There, I find Jonathan Edwards and The Freedom of the Will. It's one of his seminal works. Time to get busy.

This commentary is short but VERY powerful. Really enjoying this.

Making progress through this book. Some keen insights on one hand and some faulty ones on the other. However, it is a fiction book though every writer is a preacher and that includes fiction. Will be done with this one next week.
